Applicants need to complete an online application. You will set up an interview by scheduling your own time through the application system. There will be interviews on September 6th and 7th, 2016. You will need to bring to your interview your drivers license, Social Security card, and an official high school transcript. The Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel at the DISD Central Office will then give you the appropriate paperwork for employment. You must attend substitute training which is required. The next training will be scheduled for September 13, 2016 in the library at the High School from 4:00-7:00 pm. After the training you will be required to get fingerprinted. There is a $47.45 fee that will have to be paid by the applicant to get fingerprinted.
Becoming a Substitute Teacher at Dumas ISD is easy as:
- Submit your application online
- Prior to the next upcoming training you will be notified by email to schedule an interview time
- Attend a substitute training An interview and completed paperwork are required before attending the training.
Please have the following items available at the time of your interview:
- Valid driver's license
- Social Security Card
- Copy of high school transcript or GED (not required for certified teachers)
- Teacher's certificate (if a certified teacher)
