Community & Student Engagement Summary
The community engagement requirement is an opportunity for districts to showcase areas of excellence and success as well as recognize areas in need of improvement and set future goals valued in the community.
Students are expected to adhere to the dress code at all times with the exception of designated days. Campuses may designate special days where changes to the dress code may be allowed in accordance with district guidelines.

Public Information Requests
Dumas Independent School District (Dumas ISD) handles all request for public information in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, Texas
Ratings, Report Cards, and Performance Reports
Every public school in Texas gets one of two accountability ratings: Met Standard or Improvement Required. Schools receiving the Met Standard rating may qualify for distinctions. The State Report Cards are required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. They provide information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures. Students handbooks are designed to provide basic information about each campus that you and your child will need during the school year. The handbooks are written to be in harmony with board policy and the Student Code of Conduct.
