6th Grade Band Parents,
This is a reminder of your 6th grade band student’s Winter Concert. The after school rehearsal that was scheduled for December 2 has been moved to December 3 at 4:00 (right after school). The rehearsal will end at 4:45pm and then there will be a Cactus bus to take students home.
The Winter Concert is on Thursday, December 4 at 7:00pm in the Intermediate Gym. Your student needs to be there by 6:30pm to get their instrument, find their seats and warm up so that we can begin the concert right at 7:00pm. The concert should last about 30 minutes. There will be a Cactus bus to pick up students at 6:15pm at Family Dollar by the old Cactus Elementary and Grubs Market and bring them back to the school. There will be a bus to take the Cactus students home after the concert.
The Cactus bus will drop off students at either the Family Dollar by the old Cactus Elementary School or at Grubs Market in Etter, so please discuss with your student at which location they need to get off and plan on picking them up there around 5:00pm on December 3 and around 8:00pm on December 4.
Please make every effort for your student to attend this event as band is a team activity and any missing student impacts the entire group. Each concert this year will count for three grades!
If you know your student is going to miss one of these events, please let me know at least a week in advance. If your student is sick or there is some kind of family emergency, please email me or send a signed note as soon as possible so that I can have them do a make-up assignment.
If you have any questions you can email me at tyler.seward@dumasisd.org.

Dear Families,
We understand that some families in our community may be experiencing delays or interruptions in receiving their SNAP benefits. Please know that we care deeply about the well-being of our students and want to help connect you with resources that can provide support.
Our Snack Pack Program provides extra food support for students who may be facing food insecurity, helping ensure students have enough to eat over the weekends and holidays. This program requires an application, but the process is simple.
If you would like to apply, please call our office at (806) 935-6946. We will gladly send an application home with your student. Once it’s completed, your student can return it to school.
In addition, St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church operates a Food Pantry that is open Thursdays from 4:00–7:00 p.m. Families are asked to bring a photo ID, address, phone number, and a list of people in the home along with information about anyone who is working.
We are here to support our families — please don’t hesitate to reach out if your family needs assistance.
