The district is beginning the process early this year of the calendar development for the 2025-2026 school year. We are asking for suggestions that might lead to ways to improve our school calendar. Please provide ideas that can positively promote instruction and provide relief to teaching staff. A summary of the survey results will be shared with the District Leadership Team and the District Council to guide in setting next year's calendar. Thank you for taking the time to help make our district the best! Please keep in mind Dumas ISD schedules at least 78,000 minutes. We are aware that state law requires 75,600, we want to have a bank of days for unforeseen circumstances, ie severe weather. In addition, teachers contractually are required to work 187 days. Opportunity to help fire victims in the Panhandle! JBS will be at the Courthouse after school selling Burger Bags. First come, first serve! They will be there until they run out.

This event is for anyone who has a bachelor’s degree or is working to obtain one and is interested in the rewarding and fulfilling career of TEACHING. Participants will learn how to become eligible for hire with a Panhandle school district as early as Fall 2024.

The Dumas FFA Applied Agricultural Engineering team placed first at the Area contest held Friday in Levelland. Cristian Ramirez was high individual in the contest and offered a $1200 scholarship.
