Dumas ISD Parents & Staff,
DISD has become aware of an issue that involves two individuals driving from Wyoming to Texas with the possible goal of a school shooting at a non-specified Texas Elementary School. While none of the Dumas ISD Elementary Schools have been identified, our location certainly makes Dumas ISD a possible path through Texas from Wyoming.
Dumas ISD has taken the following precautions:
1) The District ISD Police Department has been in communication with local Law Enforcement, and all are very aware of the situation.
2) Exterior doors at each campus are locked and secure.
2) We have asked the Elementary Schools to have no outside activities today.
3) Police and/or armed staff will monitor dismissal at all campuses.
Unfortunately, in 2024, this is the world we live in. Our outstanding staff is committed to taking all necessary steps to keep our children safe.

Dumas North Elementary would like to invite you to our Sweetheart Swing Family Dance! We look forward to seeing all of our families there. The Dance will be in the gym on Friday, February 9th from 6-8pm. The cost of admission will be $2 per person. There will be a concession stand available. See you Friday!!
